On May 28, 2025, Chen Lu, the instructor of the course "Comprehensive Application of Professional Fundamentals (Small-scale Architectural Design)" at the School of Art and Design, invited Jin Shengyu, legal representative of Shanghai Zhuying Architectural Design Co., Ltd., to give a lecture in the class. This course is a concentrated practical teaching module (2 credits, 60 class hours) for sophomore undergraduates majoring in Environmental Design in the second semester. It is mainly used to summarize the professional knowledge learned by students in their sophomore year and test the relevant teaching achievements in design practice, playing a connecting role. It not only integrates the professional knowledge learned in the early stage but also lays a solid foundation for the professional study in the junior year. With the topic "Enlightenment Course for Architectural Designers", Mr. Jin explained to the sophomore students of Environmental Design how to carry out architectural design practice efficiently and reasonably.

Mr. Jin started the course with the enlightenment of architectural design, and systematically explained the whole process of architectural design in plain language, as well as details such as how to quickly complete the preliminary site research, collection of project user needs, and project sketching.

Next, taking his own professional learning experience as the theme, Mr. Jin systematically explained to the students the internal logical relationship between various course modules in the first and second years of university, as well as how to use the professional knowledge learned in different courses to solve practical architectural design problems. After completing the relevant theoretical explanations, Mr. Jin took the design of a small tea house as an example to explain the content of the course assignment, focusing on detailed explanations of issues such as the selection of the tea house site, functional zoning, traffic line layout, and architectural form. At the same time, to effectively arouse students' enthusiasm, the explanation of relevant issues was mainly carried out in the form of teacher-student interaction. Through communication and interaction with the teacher, the students mastered relevant knowledge and improved their cognitive level of professional knowledge.

At the end of the course, Mr. Jin exchanged views with the students on the future development direction of architectural design, answered their doubts about future employment, and emphasized that they should firm their beliefs and earnestly learn professional knowledge. He pointed out that the industry is currently in a period of transformation, and students should not be affected by the current industry situation, as the architectural industry is expected to achieve significant development again in the future.

Through this "enterprise experts entering the classroom" activity, students deepened their understanding of the professional knowledge learned in the past two years of university and had a clearer positioning for their own professional learning. They all said that they would study professional courses earnestly in the future, strive to improve their professional skills, and thus realize their own value.
